Celebrating over 50 Years of Service.

Middlebury Convalescent Home is  a 58 bed, privately owned, skilled nursing facility offering both short and long-term care, as well as hospice and respite services. We are located in Middlebury, Connecticut set on four picturesque acres of quiet wooded surroundings. Our traditional furnishings and elegant décor create a warm and inviting environment in private and semi-private rooms. There are many areas for our residents to enjoy, including our community living room, bright and airy dining room, beautiful recreation room, sunroom, manicured gardens and peaceful patios.

Middlebury Convalescent Home was founded in 1961 by Dr. Seymour I. Zonn, with the able assistance of Genevieve Buckmiller, RN. Together they established a standard of excellence in healthcare that remains the cornerstone of our philosophy. That vision is preserved today under the guidance of the original family ownership.

Our caregivers truly set us apart from other facilities and communities. We have employees, in many departments, with over 25 years of service to Middlebury Convalescent Home. There have been only two Administrators and two Directors of Nursing in more than 54 years.  Our approach to care focuses on physical and mental well-being by encouraging independence, freedom of choice, and fulfillment of spirit.
